This policy explains what personal information Gainix collects, why, who we share it with, and how you can get it deleted. It describes what the app does today. If we add features that collect new kinds of information, we will update this policy before those features are released.

1. Who we are

Gainix is operated by BuildFitLabs, a company registered in Egypt. In this policy "we", "us" and "our" mean BuildFitLabs. We are the data controller for the information described below.

You can reach us about anything in this policy at [email protected].

2. What we collect

Account information

Your name, email address, preferred language (Arabic or English), and which subscription tier your account is on. If you choose to sign in with Google or with Apple, we receive your name and email address from them — we never see or receive your password for those accounts.

Your body and fitness profile

Your age, height, weight, gender, activity level and fitness goal, together with the food preferences you enter during setup. From these we calculate your estimated daily energy expenditure and your daily calorie, protein, carbohydrate and fat targets, and we store those calculated results alongside the inputs.

Health information you choose to record

Medical conditions, injuries, allergies, dietary rules and food dislikes that you record, along with any free-text note you attach to them. This is sensitive information and section 3 explains how we treat it.

Photographs you attach to a food submission

If you submit a food that is not already in our catalogue, you can attach a photograph of its nutrition label — taken with the camera, or chosen from your photo library. This is the only place the app uses the camera, and it happens only when you choose to attach a photograph.

We strip the photograph's EXIF metadata before it is uploaded, so the location and device details your phone normally embed in a picture are not sent to us. Submitted photographs are stored privately and are readable only by you and by the reviewer who checks your submission — see section 5.

What you do in the app

The meals and workouts you log, your daily logs, body measurements and check-ins you record, and how closely your logged activity matched the plan you were following.

Technical and usage information

A record of each significant interaction with the app — what you were trying to do, which language you were using, and whether it succeeded — which we use to find and fix problems. If you turn on reminders, we store a notification token for your device so we can deliver them.

What Gainix does not collect. We are being specific here because generic privacy policies usually are not, and because you should be able to hold us to it. Gainix does not:

  • use the camera or your photo library for anything other than a nutrition-label photograph you choose to attach to a food submission;
  • record or process audio, and has no voice input;
  • use artificial intelligence to process your information;
  • use any third-party advertising, analytics or crash-reporting service;
  • collect your location, your contacts, or data from other health or fitness apps;
  • process payments or store any card details.

3. Health and sensitive information

Some of what you record in Gainix is health information, and we treat it as sensitive.

When you record a medical condition, an injury, an allergy or a dietary rule, you are telling us something about your health directly. We use it for a single purpose: to keep the food and the exercises the app suggests appropriate and safe for you. We do not use health information for any other purpose, we do not share it with anyone, and we do not sell it.

The free-text note you can attach to a health entry is stored exactly as you write it and is never analysed or shared. Please include only what you want us to hold.

You are never required to record health information. The app works without it — it simply cannot avoid foods or movements it does not know about.

Gainix is not a medical service. It is a fitness and nutrition tool. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, and its calculations are estimates for general fitness use. Always talk to a doctor before changing your diet or exercise, particularly if you are pregnant or have a medical condition.

4. How we use your information

We do not use your information to advertise to you, and we do not sell it to anyone.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising. We rely on a small number of service providers that process information on our behalf, under contract and only for the purposes below:

ProviderWhat it does for us
SupabaseStores your account and app data, and handles sign-in
Google Cloud PlatformRuns the Gainix backend service (hosted in Europe)
Google · AppleSign in with Google and Sign in with Apple, only if you use them
Apple Push Notification service · Firebase Cloud MessagingDelivers your reminders to your device
BrevoSends account emails such as confirmation and password reset
CloudflareHosts this page

Food submissions are reviewed by a person. If you submit a food, the entry and any nutrition-label photograph you attached are seen by a reviewer on our team so they can check the figures before the food is added to the shared catalogue. Reviewers see the submission itself; they do not browse your logs, your plans or your health information.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect our rights or someone's safety.

6. Deleting your account

There are two ways to delete your account and everything in it.

In the app

Open Profile → Delete Account and confirm.

This is immediate and permanent. Your account and all the information described in this policy are erased as soon as you confirm. There is no waiting period, no recovery window, and no way for us or for you to get the account or its data back afterwards. Please be certain before you confirm.

By email

Write to [email protected] from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. We will complete the deletion within 30 days and confirm when it is done. This route exists so that you can still have your data deleted after uninstalling the app.

Full details are on our account deletion page.

7. How long we keep your information

We keep your information for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account it is erased as described in section 6. We do not keep backup copies of deleted accounts for later use.

One exception: foods you contributed to the shared catalogue. If you submitted a food and our reviewers published it, that entry and the nutrition-label photograph you attached stay in the catalogue after your account is deleted — no longer connected to you, your name or any account. Other people's plans and meal histories point at those foods, and removing them would break records that are not yours. Submissions still awaiting review are deleted with your account.

Where the law requires us to retain a record, we keep only what the law requires and only for as long as it requires.

8. Your rights

Under Egypt's Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 151 of 2020), and equivalent laws that may apply to you, you have the right to:

To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days. We will not charge you for making a request or treat you differently for having made one.

9. Age requirement

Gainix is intended for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If we become aware that we have, we will delete the account and its information. If you believe a child under 16 has created an account, please tell us at [email protected].

10. How we protect your information

All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit. Access to your data is enforced at the database level, so one account cannot read another account's information. Passwords are never stored in a readable form. No system is perfectly secure, but we take these obligations seriously and will tell you promptly if a breach affects your information.

11. Changes to this policy

We update this policy as the app changes, and installing an app update may bring changes to this policy with it. The current version is always published on this page, and the date at the top tells you when it last changed.

We do not send individual notices of changes — please check this page from time to time. Continuing to use Gainix after a change means you accept the updated policy.
